ABOUT US

The Ibrahim Baba Institute, or IBI was founded in late 2017.

The goal of IBI is to continue the legacy of Dr Ibrahim Abdurrahman Farajaje, by making his work available to those who knew him as well as those who did not meet him in person, through videos and publications on this site of his writings, as well as links to other publications as they become available.

IBI has a small Board accompanied by several advisors. The Board meets periodically to discuss projects, which are currently focused on organizing a large archive of published and unpublished works, as well as digitizing media including photographs, films, interviews and speeches over the course of Ibrahim Baba’s life.

Who is our community?

  • Two rabbis and a large organized community of Jewish women who are actively involved in including the IBI worldview in the approach to celebration of Jewish life and values.
  • Community organizers for local free food distribution to the hungry.
  • Scholars who use IBI resources to further commitments from their students, lecturers and faculties to better and stronger dedication to Social Justice.
  • Artists, dancers, and musicians working to bring awareness and healing through their creations using Ibrahim Baba’s imagery and poetry and songs to new audiences.
  • Spiritual leaders of local and international philosophical, ethnographic, Christian and Muslim communities who follow the approach, the mindful conduct, and practices of Ibrahim Baba as examples to their congregations and gatherings.
  • Individuals whose personal spiritual lives, charitable giving, and community volunteer work are directly inspired by the examples set out by Ibrahim Baba’s legacy available through IBI resources.
